As a Judge of the High Court for over 13 years, Presided over almost every jurisdiction. Headed the Tribunal constituted under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 in respect of following organizations- ULFA, BODO, NSCN & Deendar Anjuman.

1963-1966	Graduated from St. Stephens College, Delhi
1966-1969	Bachelor of Laws from Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Campus Law Centre
1974	Post Graduate course in Industrial Law and Labour Relations from Indian Law Institute
1969-1979	Worked as in-house Counsel of IBM, World Trade Corporation for 10 years. Handled variety of corporate and commercial matters. Cases and matters in relation to Customs and Excise, FERA, MRTP, Industrial Licences, Transfer of Property Act, Urban Land (Ceiling & Regulation ) Act etc.
1979-1995	Practised as an Advocate in the High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court of India. Handled multifarious litigation in Constitutional, Civil, Company matters, Arbitration, Laws relating to Press and Media. Represented and successfully defended several Journals, Newspapers and Publications.
1990-1995	Senior Panel Counsel for the Government of India for the year 1990 to 1995. Represented the Union of India in a variety of matters in Writ jurisdiction, Civil, Original and Appellate side, complicated Service Matters relating to Army and Para Military Forces, Take over of Banks, PILs etc. Lucrative Practice with leading corporate houses as clients.

04.09.2008 to 19.10.2008	Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir Several judgments concerning compensation in Writ jurisdiction as Public Law remedy, Habeas Corpus Petitions, Arbitration Law, Contempt of Courts Act – on recusal by Judge, Privilege and Confidentiality of source for media, Unauthorized Construction, Capital Punishment, Compounding of Offences, Judgment on Transplantation of Human Organs Act, Formation of Committee and monitoring the recommendations leading to reform and amendments in provision of the Rules and Act. Judgments on the issue of Child and Run-away Marriages, generating debate and leading to the Law Commission recommendations for amendment in law. Participated in several International Conferences, representing the Judiciary. Seminar on Rehabilitation of Sick Companies, Corporate Restructuring, Money Laundering, Intellectual Property Rights – WIPO, Law Asia Conference on International Trade Law, Panel Speaker in the Conference of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), held in Seoul. President of INSOL India since its inception from 27.09.1997 to 23.05.2008 Major role in setting up the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre and training of Mediators. Chairman of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee. Chairman of the Programme Committee, monitoring the Delhi Judicial Academy.
06.11.2008	Sworn as Lokayukta for National Capital Territory of Delhi.
